2018 President Welcome Message

A very warm welcome to Season 2018, especially to our new Zebra families. I hope you are already enjoying your experience at the Zebras.

As always, your Committee has been working hard through the off-season to ensure a smooth transition onto the field in 2018, and I thank each and every one of the Committee members for their time, hard work, support and enthusiasm.

Again, we strive to achieve and uphold our core objectives:
• Develop our kids through excellent coaches and coaching
• Provide equal opportunity for all, regardless of talent or otherwise
• Have FUN (adults and kids), in a positive, healthy, family environment
• Play your footy hard and fair….and barrack hard and fair!

In 2018 we will be fielding

Boys
U11’s (Coach Kev Doherty)
U13’s (Coach Ryan McCann)
U14’s (Coach Brian Rafton)
U17’s (Coach Scott Savage)
Girls
U16’s (Coach Gary Di Paola).
as well as
U9’s Boys and Girls

Thanks to our great Coaches for their ongoing dedication and hard work. A lot of hard work has also gone into getting our Girl’s teams off the ground, and I’m very proud that we have achieved this, as it’s an exciting, very positive step for the Zebra Juniors; particularly as this brings new families into our Club, who previously did not have this opportunity. The girl’s skills are improving by the week! We have good numbers in all age groups but we encourage more to come on down and join the herd at Zebraland.

Auskick also kicks off after the Term 1 holidays, and keep an eye out for some Zebra Auskick clinics in local Primary Schools over the next month or so. Registrations are open for Auskick.

Thank you to all of those who have already volunteered for roles such as Team Managers, Assistants, Trainers, etc. I strongly encourage more to get involved and promise you will enjoy it, as will your son or daughter enjoy seeing you get involved.

We urgently need more Trainers (Medical/Sports) in all age groups; we are willing to train you if you are not qualified already! Please let your Coach or TM know if you are interested to be a Trainer, or for any other role for that matter. Fact of the matter is, the boys simply cannot play if we cannot fill the required roles.

We have several Sponsors back on board again in 2018, and urge all to continue support of our Sponsors and in particular, using the vouchers that they provide for our Awards Nights.

I look forward to seeing you all at Zebra land throughout the year.
